Big men poised to hit the hardwood for the Knicks during Las Vegas Summer League this month include intriguing options like Jerome Jordan, Jeremy Tyler, and SUNY Farmingdale's A.J. Matthews. That said, there may have been one name left off the official roster.
NBA D-League seven-footer Liam McMorrow will also don orange and blue over the next week and a half, according to his agent, Brian Brundage.
The big man played sparingly last season for the Iowa Energy, only appearing in four contests. That said, at 7'2" and 270 pounds, he provides a physical presence and knows how to use his body to his advantage.
Like all aspiring NBA athletes do, McMorrow tweeted Wednesday evening that he hopes to earn a big league gig through playing with the Knicks in Las Vegas this month. Based out of Vegas usually, the Tennessee Tech product trained throughout the season at IMG Academy, sometimes even alongside former NBA first round draft pick Marcus Fizer.
Whether he'll actually see game action or merely just serve as a practice player remains to be seen. Nevertheless, click here for footage of McMorrow going through practice drills with the Knicks at UNLV.
