Call it the calm before the storm….
With training camp less than a week away, many from the New York Knicks’ organization came together last night to support Tyson Chandler’s first public photography exhibit in New York City.
Chandler made it well known throughout last season that he was constantly spending his free time simply walking around the Big Apple in an effort to take pictures and document his first season with the Knicks.
Last night, with the proceeds benefitting a bevy of charities and organizations, Chandler put many of these very photos up for display and sale.
And members of the Knicks came out in bunches to support the 2012 “Defensive Player of the Year.” Many of Chandler’s teammates showed up, including Amar’e Stoudemire, Carmelo Anthony, Marcus Camby, Iman Shumpert, J.R. Smith, Chris Smith, and Jason Kidd.
Knicks’ Assistant General Manager Allan Houston was also in attendance, as were Knickerbocker legend Patrick Ewing and assistant coach Herb Williams.
But the support didn’t stop there. Chandler also received support in the way of an appearance by Knicks owner James Dolan, and even Baron Davis (who will reportedly still have a role with the team through his lengthy rehab) came through as well.
See below for a small sample of photos from the event. You can view Chandler’s Facebook page for even more of an inside look. The exhibit included original photos of former Knickerbockers like Jeremy Lin and Landry Fields.
